How These Deals Will Help Whitetail Conservation

Words by Nick Pinizotto: President and CEO of the National Deer Association (NDA)

The original conservationists were hunters. Without the leadership and vision of sportsmen like Theodore Roosevelt, George Bird Grinnell, William T. Hornaday, and Aldo Leopold, we would have lost many of North America's most quintessential species. Hunting was the catalyst for their passion for wildlife, motivating their critical action to protect our natural heritage.

In 1937, the passage of the Pittman-Robertson Act, which taxed guns and ammunition used by hunters, created one of the first significant conservation funding streams. Since then, sportsmen have continued to support conservation by purchasing hunting licenses, buying duck stamps, and joining organizations like the NDA.

First Lite's Camo for Conservation Initiative continues this proud legacy. Every time you purchase products featuring their Specter camouflage, a portion of the sale is donated to NDA. Formed by combining the strengths of two long-serving, successful organizations, the National Deer Association has a combined 40 years of action that has changed deer management for the betterment of hunting and protected North America’s most vital and admired game species for future generations. Put simply, our mission is to ensure the future of wild deer, wildlife habitat, and the rich hunting heritage built on thriving populations of whitetails.

From October 10 to 16, First Lite is celebrating North America's most popular game animal with 20% off everything the whitetail hunter needs to be successful in the woods. There's no better time to gear up for the treestand while supporting NDA's critical work to protect healthy deer populations and our hunting heritage. With your help this week, we'll help push the total raised by First Lite via Camo for Conservation in 2022 past $100,000.
