How To Shock Pouch A Deer with Clay Newcomb

In the 1950s James' Lawrence's grandmother taught him how to cut the lower leg bone of a deer to make backpack straps out of the legs. In this video, Clay Newcomb shows how to remove the lower leg, while leaving the dew claws, then tie the legs together to be able to carry the deer out on his back. This is a great method for hauling out a deer or antelope when you don't want to quarter up or drag the animal out. Typically, it takes about 15 minutes or less to prepare the deer and then the hunter is off to the truck.
