CYPRESS COVE TRIP

What is the cancellation/refund policy?

  • Although cancellation fees may be higher for some trips (stated in the trip proposal and materials), the following minimum cancellation fees will apply:

    + 90 days / $300 per person

    89 days or less / 100% of cost

  • Cancellation fees cannot be waived for any reason, including health, business or personal emergencies, or weather.

What licensing will I need to fish at Cypress Cove?

Can I book spots on the trip for my kids or other family members?

  • Yes, you can book spots on the trip for your other family members or friends. Unfortunately, this MeatEater Experience has a strict age limit of 18+. Please ensure that you provide accurate information about the number of participants when making your booking.

How do I request my roommate for the double occupancy rooms?

  • To request a specific roommate for double occupancy rooms, please notify us in the post-purchase email welcome packet. We will do our best to accommodate your request, subject to availability.

What is the closest airport and what is the best way to get to Cypress Cove?

  • The closest airport to Cypress Cove is Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport (approximately 2 hours away). Guests are responsible for arranging their transportation to the lodge. Rental cars or private shuttle services are commonly used to reach Cypress Cove.

Do I need to tip the guides?

  • Gratuity for guides and other service staff is not included in the cost of the trip. There is an expectation that trip guests will tip appropriately and according to standard practice for that specific trip. Additional details and tipping recommendations will be provided with your trip planning information.

Who from the MeatEater crew will be present at the trip?

  • Members of the MeatEater crew will be present on each trip. Though participation by specific members will vary based on their schedules, Steve Rinella, Janis Putelis, Ryan Callaghan, and Clay Newcomb will be on at least one of the trip dates at Cypress Cove; Janis will be participating in all of the trip dates. At least one of these experienced MeatEater personalities will join you during your trip date, in addition to other members of the MeatEater team who will be there to enhance your overall experience. Of course, schedules are subject to change due to personal situations and other external circumstances.

What do I need to bring on the trip?

  • Guests are advised to bring appropriate clothing suitable for outdoor activities, and any personal items they may require. A detailed packing list will be provided upon booking confirmation.

Will there be food and beverages provided during the trip? What if I have food/dietary restrictions?

  • Food and beverages will be provided during the trip, along with select alcohol options. We strive to accommodate dietary restrictions; however, please notify us of any specific dietary requirements or allergies in the post-purchase email, and we will do our best to accommodate your needs.

What can I expect during my stay at Cypress Cove Marina with MeatEater Experiences?

  • Guests can expect a first-class offshore and inshore fishing experience, accompanied by the MeatEater crew and expert guides from Cypress Cove. The lodge provides comfortable accommodations and exceptional hospitality, ensuring a memorable stay.

Will taxes be applied to the trip cost?

  • Yes, applicable taxes will be applied to the trip, and the full tax amount will be applied to the initial deposit payment.

What types of hunting experiences are offered at Fowl Plains Lodge with MeatEater Experiences?

  • MeatEater Experiences at Fowl Plains Lodge in Kansas offers premier waterfowl hunting adventures. The majority of the hunts will be in dry fields, creeks, ponds, and rivers. Waders are not needed, we recommend waterproof knee-high boots.

What species of waterfowl can I expect to hunt during my MeatEater Experience at Fowl Plains Lodge?

  • During your MeatEater Experience at Fowl Plains Lodge, you can expect to hunt a variety of waterfowl species commonly found in Kansas, including ducks and geese.

Will I be able to bring the ducks and geese home with me?

  • Yes! We will assist in the cleaning and packaging of the waterfowl, and abide by federal laws on transporting waterfowl!

Are there any additional activities or amenities available at Fowl Plains Lodge with MeatEater Experiences?

  • While the primary focus is on waterfowl hunting, guests can enjoy additional activities such as trap shooting and relaxing in the lodge's comfortable facilities. Amenities may include dining services, lounge areas, and outdoor recreational spaces.
