Announcing the Winners of the First Ever MeatEater Photo Contest

We asked you to share your favorite hunting stories, and boy howdy, did you all show up! Over 5,000 of you uploaded photos and told the stories of your favorite outdoor moments. From first harvests to notable picturesque moments to grandparents' hunting lore to kids' first encounters with hunting—the stories span the endless ways we engage with and enjoy the great outdoors.

The following images are the winners selected in the contest, but every photo uploaded and story told is a joy to experience. If you haven’t already, check out the original article and browse the tales for yourself right here.

People’s Choice: With over 2,000 votes, you all voted this as your favorite photo.

Crew Choice: We’d like to hear the stories told at this hunting camp.

The following photos were the daily, randomly selected winners from the week.

Thank you all for sharing your experiences with us and cheers to making new ones in 2025!
