My rules are simple: If you eat it, kill it. And if you kill it, eat it. At home, my wife and I do not eat any meat or fish that I didn’t hunt. It makes our meals special and memorable, and I know that our food is safe and healthy. Do I break my own rules? Of course I do. I travel a lot, and that requires eating out in restaurants. I obviously didn’t hunt the restaurant menu’s meat, but in those circumstances I try to order responsibly and select foods that are sustainable and that don’t work in opposition to my values.
