My line of work as an outdoor writer, and now the host of MeatEater, keeps me hunting and in the woods more than any other occupation that I can think of. I live a fully outdoor lifestyle. As it happens, living near New York facilitates the business side of that occupation and allows me to continue on. What’s more, my wife works in New York, and she enjoys her work and does it very well. I’m sure we’ll someday move back out West (I lived in Montana for over a decade before moving to New York) but right now this is a good place for me.
